What to expect of “Toys grade” drones in 2016?

2016 is here, and it’s third year in row that will be remembered by extremely increase in drone popularity. According to some speculations, more than million drones were sold only in December 2015! Most of people who bought drone in dec 2015 were beginners, and that was their first drone. According to that, it’s reasonable to expect they have bought some affordable/toy grade drones.

We have collected some information from leading drone blogs. All of them saw high increase in sales of drones in price range of $50 to $200. Specificaly, DronesGlobe team leader told us their best selling drones were models from Syma X8 series. Also, they told us their list of Top drones under $100 had 10 000 visitors in December, which is obvious proof people are interested in cheap drones. Now, when a lot of people bought their 1st, cheap drone.. can we now expect them to start buying some more expensive models?

Of course, there is percentange of people who will crach their first drone and they will just forget about it without buying new drone. That’s totally normal. We’re not all born to be drone enthusiasts haha 🙂

Good thing is I’ve noticed a lot of new drones in first three months of 2016. There are models such a JXD 509G, JJRC H26D, WLToys Q212G, new Syma series.. they all are pretty popular, and all of them are priced in $100-$150 range. Amazing, ha?

During next few months, we’ll order some of these models and we’ll review them. JXD 509G is 1st on our with list. When I saw how it flies I was just amazed, I saw it crashed from 3-5 meters to the ground and nothing happened to it. It’s made of some elastic plastic and it’s pretty crach resistant. Perfect for first time flyers.

All in all, stay tuned, some cool news are cooking 🙂

Walkera Voyager 3 review

As promised, I’ll talk about each of our drones:

  1. Walkera Voyager 3
  2. Xiro Xplorer V
  3. Blade 350 QX3
  4. Syma X8W

Todays it’s Walkeras turn. Do I even have to mention this is high quality product? Definitely one of the best drones for sale, can be directly compared to DJIs flagships as Phantom 3 or Inspire 1.

walkera-voyager-3

If you want to buy Walkera Voyager 3, you’ll have to spend $2000. Yeah, it’s not very affordable, but true drone enthusiasts will appreciate all its features. There are many reasons why it’s top rated drone on dronesglobe web magazine.

So if you have $2000 and decide to buy Walkera Voyager 3 instead of DJI Phantom 3, DJI Inspire 1, 3DR Solo.. or any other high end drone currently available on the market, this is what you’ll get :

  • 20 to 25 minutes of flight time
  • HD Camera, 1080p
  • 3 axis stabilized gimbal
  • dual navigation system
  • range of 1000 meters
  • many of features, such as : one key take off, one key landing, one key go home, follow me mode.. any many others.

How it feels to fly Walkera Voyager 3?

Well, when you’re beginner in flying drones, and you have to control something worth $2000.. you don’t feel very casual haha. After some practice on Syma X8W I felt comfortable enough to try flying Voyager 3. I have to say it’s not very hard to fly it, it comes with a lot of sensors, auto stabilization and other features that make it easier to fly it.

Eye catcher

Usually, I don’t pay that much attention to design, but in this case it is more than obvious. Walkera Voyager 3 is reall eye catcher, it looks somehow aggresive and futuristic. Personally, I think it looks better than DJI Inspire 1 (which is often considered to be the best looking drone on the planet). When we talk about design, I have to mention it doesn’t only look great, it is also designed to be very strong, powerful, resistant. Grade 10/10, no doubt.

Price

$2000, this is only drawback for most of potentian buyers. To be honest, that is much of money, but if we compare it to other rivals, price is not high at all. DJI Inspire 1 also cost about $2000 so.. When we take in count all features it has, I honestly believe this price is reasonable.

Conclusion

Walkera Voyager 3 is one of the best drones you can buy at the moment. It’s most popular rivals are DJI Inspire 1, DJI Phantom 3 and 3DR Solo. All of these are great drones, and I think you can’t go wrong buying any of these. Overall, Voyager 3 is worth the money it costs. Great flight time, range, camera and bunch of features. Thats my baby!

Stay tuned, more posts are cooming soon. In next few days I’ll be talking about Xiro xplorer V, another drone we’ve bought for Christmas 2015.

Our drones and their capabilities

Hey guys, I’m back with new blog post 🙂

Today, we’ll talk about drones we have and their capabilities. As I mentioned before, we have 4 totally different models, all with camera but still very different. I If you didn’t, please read my previous post so you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Here’s short list of our drones, below we’ll talk bit more about them:

  1. Walkera voyager 3
  2. Xiro xplorer v
  3. Blade 350 qx3
  4. Syma x8w

From few thousands dollars to few hundreds dollars, very different drones 🙂

Walkera voyager 3

Let’s be clear, we can do whatever we want with walkera voyager 3. There is no doubt. It has a great built in camera, range of 1000 meters, 20 to 25 minutes of flight time.. and price of $2000 haha. Primary, we’ll use it for aerography. We already got some proposals for recording private parties and weddings.

It’s hard to learn how to fly on walkera, you know, you don’t want to crash something that worths that much. For that reason my dad was practicing on Syma x8w, then blade 350.. and now he’s flying his own walkera voyager 3.

Xiro xplorer v

Since it comes with great built in camera, it’s suitable for aeropgraphy and videography too. Much cheaper when compared to walkera voyager 3, but still amazing and powerful drone. It looks awesome, somehow futuristic. I feel like it’s going to be good looking for a years (I mean, it won’t get outdated). It comes with 14MP camera, gives you a 20 to 25 minutes of flight time and it’s range is somewhere aroung 500 meters. Great value for $700 how it costs on amazon!

Blade 350 qx3

Unfortunately, this one doesn’t come with camera but gopro camera can be easily connected with it. Fortunately, we already own gopro hero 3 so there was extra costs at this side. I can’t say much about it because I only tested it for few minutes. I can say it responds to commands very well, has a great range (2000+ meters), flight time of 10 minutes and carries gopro very well.

Syma x8w

For starters this is great drone. It’s cheap to buy and won’t brake your bank if you crash it. Great pick when looking for something to learn fly on. It comes with a 2MP camera, has a flight time of 8 minutes and range of 100 meters. Not bad for price of $100 I’d say.

Okay, now when I introduced you to our drones, we’re ready to move forward. In future posts we’ll talk more about flying experience for each drone, learning curve and quality of photos. I’m really excited to test all this stuff. We’ll be back soon with new post 🙂

What is this blog about?

Hi everyone,

my name is Josh, I’m the youngest member of my family. This is first time in my life I’m writing a blog post 🙂 I’m not the only one who is going to write here, there are my brother Erik and mother Jana.

Why we decided to start a blog?

Well, dad bought us 4 drones this Christmas. This was totally unexpected, you know, my dad isn’t type of guy who often buy hi-tech gadgets. Since this is first time we meet drones, it should be interesting experience.

We’re here to share all our adventures with you 🙂 I know there’s a lot of you out there thinking about getting a drone for yourself. Well, we’ll try to help you make right decision.

Previous experiences & future plans

Previous experience in flying drones? – what’s that? 🙂 Seriously,  we have no experience in flying drones nor any type of remote controled flying toy. I’m sure this will be interesting experience haha.

When it comes to drones, future plans are very clear and simple. Since we got 4 different models (all of them have a camera), we’ll test their video recording potential. But of course, we have to learn how to fly first 🙂

So, this is how it should look like:

  1. Learn flying basics
  2. Improve flying skills
  3. Start taking photos and recording videos
  4. Learn how to edit recorded videos
  5. Join Drone communities on facebook and forums

Models we will be using

4 different models, but I’m not going to tell you their names in this stage 🙂 Keep reading our blog, you’ll find out more about them very soon. What I can say for now is this :

  • 4 very different models
  • each of them have a camera
  • very dissimilar prices

Conclusion

First post is about to finish, I’m very excited about this 🙂 Thanks everyone for reading, stay with us, we’re cooming back with more awesome posts!
